The Distinctive Edge Gallery
Presents Solo Art Exhibition Jan. 27th – March 23rd, 2010

“California Visions”
Featuring Dolores Garren

The Distinctive Edge presents their next solo art exhibit in Rancho Palos Verdes. This show, “California Visions”, will feature oil paintings by local artist Dolores Garren. There will be an Artist’s Reception on Saturday, Feb. 6th, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Gallery hours are Monday – Saturday 10:00am – 6:00pm. A portion of all sales during this show will go to help the victims of Haiti through a reputable charity.
Garren is a painter of many subjects. Currently she has felt the need to record on canvas her impressions of nature. Walking along paths, observing rays of light peeking through trees, illuminating flowers or creating sparkle on water; they all compel her to put these images on canvas.
Without words, her brush, paint, and canvas allow her to capture fragments of God’s creation with a unique balance of color, light, shadow and delicate edges. She wants the viewer to experience beauty, harmony, tranquillity and atmosphere in her work.
Past artistic endeavors led up to her career in painting. One of which was teaching school in San Pedro and organizing art programs for 900 elementary school children. Observing children delight themselves with various art forms was a source of great pleasure for Garren. She belongs to several Art Associations and has been a Community Arts Representative for the Palos Verdes Art Center.
