May 19 – 25th Annual Woodies on the Waterfront

The L.A. Wood car show is held every year and hosted by South Bay Woodies, a small group of classic car owners and enthusiasts who strive to preserve and promote wooden cars, spread the excitement of restoration, history of ownership, and charitable giving thru it’s flagship yearly event. This year the event is being held on “National Drive Your Woodie Day”.

An assortment of labor memorabilia will be on display throughout the month of May

Muller House Museum’s First Sunday Series program “Vintage Fabric Care 101″ is a crash course in the identification, preservation, display and storage of antique textiles presented by costume designer Kara McLeod. Feel free to bring in your own textile treasure for a consult with this remarkable expert in the field. Museum and gift Shop open at 1 PM, Program begins at 1:30 PM.

Spend the day exploring the shore at Cabrillo Beach. Join the “Walk Cabrillo” guided tour of the Cabrillo Beach Coastal Park habitats from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. This free walk will include guided interpretation of inner Cabrillo Beach, saltmarsh, outer wave-swept sandy beach, and the tidepools at Point Fermin.

Feb 5 – First Sunday Series “Open for Business: History is in the Details” at the Muller House Museum

Muller House Museum’s First Sunday Series “Open for Business: History is in the Details” features paintings created by San Pedro artist Gary Norton. Historical Society Archivist Anne Hansford will explain how meticulous research led him to create buildings and scenes that tell a story of days gone by.

Jan 22 – “Dear Harbor: Images of our Community” at Angels Gate Cultural Center Exhibit on Display thru March 4th

The Dear Harbor project is a interactive tribute to the memories, photographs and physical history of our community. Dear Harbor asks local residents to take a past photographic print of the San Pedro harbor area to the location where it was originally shot, and take a new picture showing how things have changed.
